2014 has been a turning point for the recovery of the Spanish Private Equity ("PE") market. Spain has recovered its long-lost dynamism and has finally been able to offer appropriate macroeconomic conditions and decent investment, fundraising and divestment volumes to international investors, which have been involved in most of the large deals closed during 2014. While the volume of transactions still remains low, 2014 has probably meant the beginning of a new cycle which should continue during 2015, thanks, on the one hand, to the interest from international investors in the Spanish market and, on the other, to the greater availability of funds for national investors.
